well as crops and livestock. Monte Vista is a great little town with
desirable shops, restaurants and supplies. The City of Alamosa is about
a ˝ hour drive away with all the modern amenities necessary like a
hospital, college, shopping, supplies and a small commercial airport.

recreational opportunities in the area as well as right on the farm.
Fishing and hunting right on the farm will be good, but even better
throughout the valley and in the close-by mountains. Southern Colorado
boasts one of the best places in the world to big game hunting. Elk,
deer, antelope, black bear, Rocky Mountain Bighorn sheep and moose are
all available in the region. Small game like rabbits, upland birds and
waterfowl abound. For the golfer, there are many courses throughout the
area. The valley is famous for bird watching with the annual Whooping
Crane migration topping the list. Additionally, there are plenty of
other waterfowl and migratory birds to watch. Camping, sightseeing and
touring the extensive nearby federal lands is a prime activity. The
Great Sand Dunes National Monument is less than an hour away. This area
also offers an excellent geothermal hot springs pool. This area of
Colorado is a sportsman’s dream.
